How to enter
Automobilia
Selling at auction is the quickest, easiest and most straightforward way to sell your items and will often return you more money than if you attempt to sell privately. All our sales are heavily promoted worldwide, both via the internet and through the specialist press, and attract an enormous crowd of buyers.
Initial contact
To discuss entering your automobilia, please contact Toby Service on 01568 611122 or email on toby.service@brightwells.com
Valuations & reserves
We will arrange for your automobilia to be inspected by one of our specialists who will advise you on its probable value and on any steps you might reasonably take to maximise your return at auction. This inspection is free and carries no obligation whatsoever. We will also discuss the reserve with you (the price below which the item will not be sold). Reserves are kept confidential but bear in mind that a realistic reserve leads to a low estimate that attracts more bidders – and usually a higher price. We can also give you an idea of value, if you are able to bring in your items by appointment, email photos to us or discuss the items over the phone.
Entry form & charge
We’re happy to fill out the entry form with you, once the items arrive at our salerooms. We charge a £3 lotting fee, and a 16% commission rate which includes a 1% insurance charge. These charges are subject to VAT at the standard rate.
Transport
Transport of your automobilia to the auction can be arranged at extra cost – we will need your items on site at least one week before the sale. For more information on Transport please click here.
Payment
We pay out 14 days after the sale, all funds being held in a secure client account during the intervening period.
Early consignment
We cannot over-emphasize the importance of early consignment of your items. The sooner we know your items will be in the sale the more chance we have to promote them.
