Viewing of sale lots

The racecourse stables will open to the public from 7.30am on the day of sale.

Payment

Payment must be made by CASH, CARD OR CHEQUE on the day of sale. (Cheques will only be accepted from regular clients and those who provide a current banker's reference).

For those paying by credit card (other than debit and switch cards) a 3% (plus VAT) banker's charge will be added to all purchasers' accounts.

Horses will be sold in pounds (£) sterling. In addition, a 6% (plus VAT) buyer's premium will be added to all purchaser's accounts. If the entry is marked VAT then a further 20% will be added to the hammer price.

In addition, a £15 inclusive of VAT indemnity fee will be added to the purchaser's account on each horse purchased.

Commission

Should any prospective purchaser be unable to attend the sale, the auctioneers will personally be pleased to execute Commissions on their behalf, at no extra charge, lots being obtained as cheaply as other bids allow. In this instance, irrevocable methods of payment must be in place before commission instructions are enacted.

Veterinary procedure

All horses are sold subject to veterinary re-examination as per condition 8, sold as they stand as per condition 9, or sold subject to veterinary re-examination of wind only as per condition 10. If a horse is sold subject to veterinary examination or veterinary examination of wind only, then the purchaser must request that the horse be examined by the veterinary panel on the day of sale. This examination is £150.00 including VAT. Purchasers must notify the office that they require examination within 1 hour of the time of purchase. If the purchaser fails to take advantage of the sale day veterinary examination then they cannot thereafter make complaint of matters, which would have been covered by the sale day veterinary examination. If the horse is sold as it stands, then no veterinary warranty is implied or given and the purchaser is to rely upon their own judgement in relation to a horse's soundness and fitness for the purpose they are purchasing it for.

Private sales

All Private sales made on the sale day must be booked through the auctioneers.

All horses must be removed from the racecourse stables by 8pm on the day of sale.

Transporters

Licensed transporters are normally in attendance to remove lots on behalf of purchasers.

Insurance

Insurance of purchases may be arranged through the auctioneer’s office on the day of sale.
