Entry Forms
Entries can be made online or by paper. To enter online please click on the Online Entry button top right of the Sale Homepage or to enter on paper click on the Printable Entry Form link also on the Sale Homepage to print a paper entry form off to complete. 

Entries made online at are discounted by £6 per lot. (N.B. No discount is given for supplementary entries).

Postal Entry Fees: Sections A, B & WPBR Yearlings (born in 2017) = £38* (including VAT) Sections C & D Yearlings (born in 2017) = £54* (including VAT)
All Sections 2 year olds & over (born in 2016 & before) = £56* (including VAT)

The entry fee includes a loose box for the night prior to the Sale.

N.B. Part of the entry fee goes to the Welsh Pony & Cob Society.

Entry Information
Do not send in your passports as your animals must travel with them.
 Your entry must be fully registered with the WPCS & registered with them in your name.
 If your entry was registered as a colt and has since been gelded the WPCS need to have updated his passport.
 Stallions 4 years old and over need to hold an appropriate stallion licence. 1, 2 and 3 year old colts do not require a stallion licence.
 For the entry of foals please ensure your registration applications go in as early as possible to the WPCS so that they can get your passports processed in time for the Sale – they must be with the WPCS at least four weeks prior to the Sale otherwise the Society will not guarantee their return in time for the Sale. 

Please also note the following statements:
 All faults, unsoundnesses and vices should be declared by the seller including the fact that a lot has suffered from sweet itch, or has a sarcoid or sarcoid-like lesion. 
 Please ensure there is no possibility of your ‘uncovered’ filly/ mare being in foal.
 Mares / fillies will not be described as ‘covered’ in the sales catalogue unless a signed service certificate is sent along with the entry. Similarly broodmares will not be stated as ‘scanned’ or ‘tested’ in foal in the catalogue unless the entry is accompanied by veterinary evidence confirming the pregnancy with the relevant date on (in other words, statements will not be made unless they are supported). 

A note from The Welsh Pony & Cob Society:
Vendors must be members of the Welsh Pony and Cob Society. A reduced rate membership is being offered for the Brightwells Spring Sale. A reduced membership is being offered at £10 for the Spring Sale ONLY. (Please note this does not entitle the individual to the benefits of a full membership with the Society) please contact the WPCS office for further details.

Vendors will be charged a standard commission of 6% + VAT. There will be a minimum commission of £10 + VAT per lot. Pay out to the vendor will be in 21 days after the Sale subject to the conditions of sale.

Unless written instructions are lodged with the Auctioneers lots will be sold without reserve.

Private Sales
All Private Sales made on the Sale Day must be booked through the Auctioneers.

No lots will be allowed to leave the Showground until a Pass has been obtained from the Sales Office. In the event of lot labels missing from lots these animals will not be allowed to leave until identified to the satisfaction of the Auctioneer's Representative.

Ridden lots will show their paces and ability in the trial areas. It is hoped that all vendors will make full use of the trial areas and jumps to show their horses to the best advantage. Trial rides for any prospective purchaser may be offered at the vendor’s discretion, on the understanding that all risk and responsibility for any incidents or accident are at the risk of the trial rider and not with the vendor, vendor's agent or the Auctioneers.

Veterinary Procedure
All horses and ponies are sold subject to veterinary examination unless sold for £500 or less, or otherwise stated.

Veterinary Surgeons appointed by the Auctioneers are available through the Auctioneers Office to examine horses on behalf of Vendors and Purchasers. In the case of Purchasers, they are prepared to examine horses on their behalf as to whether they are correct under the Conditions of Sale. The Veterinary Surgeon’s decision that a horse be returnable is binding on both parties. All horses should be vetted for eyes, heart, action, age and ascertainment of catalogue descriptions for a fee of £80 (including VAT).

Purchasers must notify the office that they require examination within 1 hour of the time of purchase and receive a vetting slip to enable examination to take place.

Vendors must check the veterinary board displayed in the Sales Office to see if their horse/pony must be presented for veterinary examination. Vendors should not leave the Sale Site without first checking the vetting board.

It is emphasised that the facilities are not available to undertake a full veterinary examination but part veterinary examination should take place. This part examination should include examination for sarcoids or sarcoid-like lesions, which can only be complained about on the day of sale. Only Lots that are examined by the panel on the sale day have an extended period of 2 working days (including Saturdays) to enable complete veterinary examination.

All lots not examined by the veterinary surgeon on the sale day will not be covered by a veterinary warranty.

Delivery & Stabling
All lots will have stabling available from 5:00pm until gates close at 9:00pm on the day prior to the Sale and from 7:30am on the day of sale. Straw is provided, however vendors must provide water buckets, mangers and all fodder. We regret stabling is not available for horses not entered in the sale.

Parking & Pedestrian Entrance Charges
All vehicles arriving on the Sale day will be charged a parking fee of £10. [Vendors will be sent a pass]. An overnight parking fee of £10 will be charged to those staying on site; vendors producing their pass will pay a discounted rate of £5.
Those staying in the Hostel on site will be charged a fee of £10 per car. Pedestrians will be charged an entrance fee of £5 per person.
N.B.: £5 of entrance fees will be refunded to all purchasers as long as a valid ticket is produced at time of payment.
