1972 Cheltenham Sable Caravan
Period Two-Berth
caravan; two previous owners; recent interior refurb; full awning; easy
starter project
Cheltenham Caravans were very much top of tree and
came in a wide range named after small 'deer-like' animals - the Springbok,
Fawn, Roebuck and Sable as on offer here.
The Sable was a generous
two-berth caravan incorporating a toilet with outside (and inside) doors, a
smart kitchen and a seating area with table and storage which formed the comfy
bed.
Weighing in at just 650kgs, they could be towed by the average
family car and at 15'5" long and 7'10" high were not so large that storage was
an issue.
With their distinctive styling and quality built, they remain
popular today as a real 'classic' choice.
This Sable is clean and tidy
inside and looks remarkably complete given it is nearing 50 years of age. A bit
of time invested in a few details here and there would produce a perfect retreat
or 'glamping' destination - or for those now working from home - the ideal
office/annex.
Dating from 1972, it even comes with a handy
awning.
