Showing 73,000 miles; recently put through an MOT after being garaged since 2016; respectable little late Cooper

By the late ‘80s, nearly 30 years since its debut, the remarkable Mini had gone into something of a sales decline, losing market share to more practical hatchback alternatives from the likes of Renault, Fiat and VW.
In a bid to improve sales, Rover Group used its RSP (Rover Special Projects) division to breathe some magic back into the car, launching the Rover RSP in 1990 – the first of the reincarnated Coopers. This turned out to be a master-stroke which brought about a genuine revival of interest in the Mini, particularly in Japan. The new Cooper had a 63bhp 1,275cc carburettor engine and an even better fuel-injected version was introduced in 1991. Build quality improved over the years as BMW took over and any of these Coopers are still keenly collected today.
This little Cooper was first registered in September 1999 so is currently celebrating its 21st birthday. Currently only recording four registered keepers and showing just over 73,000 miles, it seems in very respectable condition, even if a little attention is needed here and there. A little rust has crept in while being stored for the last four or five years, but it has just passed an MOT, valid until September next year.
We are advised that the V5C has been lost but the vendor is awaiting a new one from the DVLA. The file does include a few MOT printouts and the all important wheel locking nut. Give a Mini a birthday and get yourself a Cooper.
