1992 TVR 290S

Attractive car showing just 54,600 miles; fresh MOT; history file showing plenty of care and attention

This S3 290S was ordered through Mole Valley TVR in 1992. Delivered in Cobalt blue with grey vinyl/half hide seats and black vinyl dash top, it had a very expensive stereo and a Delta alarm fitted at the time of delivery.

Mole Valley undertook the first service at 6,490 miles in September 1993, fitted a new rear window in February the following year, sorted an overheating issue in April and gave the car a 10,431 mile service in July.

It was then serviced by Christopher Neil, again in July 1995 at 16,279 miles. They serviced it again in 1997 without recording the mileage and by 1997, a Sun diagnostic print out records 28,233 miles under its belt. We believe it had had three owners up to this point.

It appears to have changed owners again in 1998, Harrogate Horseless Carriages carrying out a pre-purchase inspection at 33,043 miles, servicing it again just 200 miles later in November of that year with owner number five. Serviced again in 1999 by Motorscope at 34,649 miles and with various visits to local garages over the next few years, we see that 38,704miles had been covered by July 2001. Further bills show a new owner servicing the car in 2003 and 2006, by which time the mileage had crept to 45,621 miles.

It was then sold to the current registered keeper (number 8) with 49,287 miles showing. It was further serviced with receipts from 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2018 despite minimal use and new track rod ends and a laser tracking taking place in 2019.  A hand written list shows work and an MOT in May 2020.

Its current test expires in March 2022 with a very minor advisory on a number plate lamp. The car presents well and would respond well to a careful valet. The windscreen shows signs of water damage at the very edge and the wood trim needs sorting. The rest looks like the well serviced car that it is, with a nice low mileage and caring owners.
