Description
1972 Triumph TR6
Imported from the USA in
1989; subject to considerable overhaul in 2001; CC carburetted version; presents
very well
Built in the second half of 1972 as a
left hand drive car according to the chassis number, this TR6 spent the
first part of its life in the US, a copy title from 1985 showing by then it was
living in dry-state Florida. Shipped back to the UK in 1989, it appears to
have only had four registered keepers since.
Over the next few years, approximately £5,000 was spent on
improving, overhauling and restoring through the TR Centre in Yorkshire which
must have produced a car in pretty good all round condition. Now RHD and UK
registered in 1993, it appears to have stayed with the respective owner in
Barnsley until 2014, being used on a regular basis, judging by the MOT history
online and within the file, although only covering about 100/200 miles per
year.
Now showing 66,000 miles, this appears to
be a very useable machine which presents very well. A few little blemishes to
the paintwork as one might expect, but who’s perfect!
These TR’s have become very popular in the last few years, and good
ones always attract a lot of interest.
