Late model
Thames van in running order but with scope for cosmetic TLC
This
Ford Thames Van must be one of the last examples made as it was first registered
in May 1961, production of the Thames having come to an end the previous month.
There is no paperwork other than a V5C which records 10 former keepers.
An online check shows that the last MOT was issued in July 2007 (with no
advisories) when it was showing 40,227 miles and it has only covered another 100
miles since.
The exterior looks to be in generally good shape bar some
light rust starting to appear in a couple of spots. The driver’s seat is quite
badly worn but the rest of the interior looks tidy enough. The front left tyre
has some damage and won’t stay inflated however there are three spare
wheels/tyres in the back of the van (condition unknown).
We have had it running on site, however due to the flat tyre we
have not been able to drive it. Offered in a use and improve state, this
charming Thames van has a lot going for it and looks like it could be turned
into a very nice example with relatively little effort.
