The Ceramic and Glass department handle 18th century Chinese and Japanese ceramics; rare English and Continental ceramics from the early 18th through the 19th century and decorative glass from the 17th through the 20th century.

The more rare decorative English and Continental Ceramics from early 18th century through to modern producers attract interest, with early Georgian glass and Contemporary proving to be popular in many cases.

Royal Worcester items have a good following, with the painted Fruit pieces and signed painted cattle, sheep and other rural scenes being keenly sought after, as is Royal Crown Derby with Imari and other designs.

Recently a pair of stunning Worcester Flight Barr and Barr Wine Coolers with liners and covers sold for £8,000, painted scenes of stately homes, exotic birds and flowers.

Moorcroft is also keenly sort after with the earlier pieces and the more rare patterns in high demand, recent result was a “Dawn” pattern trumpet shaped Vase with flambe glaze selling for £3600

The Asia market is still buoyant and Brightwells specialists have the expertise and experience required to handle the valuation and successful sale of these highly collectible pieces.
