General Manager, Vehicles Department – Brightwells

Location: Easters Court, Leominster HR6 0DE
Reports to: Steve Powis, Department Manager

Brightwells are seeking applications for a General Manager, based on the following requirements:

  • Ensure the smooth running of our busy vehicle auction office
  • Oversee and assist with the administration of vehicles for auction
  • Contact both buyers and sellers regarding auction entries
  • Minimise outstanding customer debts through our Cash Office team
  • Work with office and yard teams to prepare vehicles to best effect for sale
  • Maximise sundry income streams, through additional services to customers
  • An ability to solve problems quickly and with good reasoning
  • Maintain Health & Safety standards throughout the department
  • Display excellent communication skills

Assistant National Procurement Manager

Location: Brightwells Auction Site, Stoney Street, Madley, Herefordshire HR2 9NH.
Reports to: James Thomas, Department Manager

Principal aims, to assist the Plant & Machinery Department Manager in the generation and securing of new business, while ensuring levels of service provided to current vendors & purchasers, remain at a high level.

The position is located at our Madley auction site and is based on the following requirements:

• The candidate should have knowledge of the plant and machinery industry and ideally possess some commercial experience
• The role is customer facing, the candidate requires excellent communication skills and the ability to building and manage long term relationships
• Good problem-solving skills are essential
• Ability to review and maintain client accounts, with regular reporting to Brightwells Management Team
• Organise own diary and effectively manage client visits
• This role is full time and will require travel, potentially throughout the UK, therefore a full driving licence is required.
• Working conditions: The role is yard based, personal protective equipment will be required, and Health & Safety rules adhered to.

Auctioneering skill would be of interest but are not essential. Brightwells is a progressive, long-established, multi-disciplined company and there are excellent long-term prospects for the right candidate.

Salary: Competitive and discretionary company bonus.

Auctioneer / Valuer (Livestock & Rural Professional Department)

Location: Mid-Wales / Herefordshire borders region
Reports to: Irving Parry, Director and Chairman

Brightwells is a leading provider of auction services, estate agency and chartered surveying, serving customers principally in the UK, but also internationally.

An opportunity has arisen in the Builth Wells office, for an Auctioneer / Valuer to join the busy team working in the Mid-Wales / Herefordshire borders region.

The post would suit a newly qualified agricultural valuer, preferably RICS / CAAV, with an interest in livestock and equine. Rostrum experience would be advantageous, but training can be provided.

Duties will include; running weekly livestock auctions, seasonal sheep sales, professional work incorporating agricultural property valuations for secured lending / compulsory purchase, sales of farms and land and agricultural property lettings.

A clean driving licence is essential.

Government Online Auctions Coordinator

Location: Brightwells Auction Site, Stoney Street, Madley, Herefordshire HR2 9NH.

Job Description: Provide front line support for the handling and management of client’s items, through receipt of stock to final release of goods or collection. The principal auctions concern items offered for sale on behalf of MoD, Home Office, DEFRA, Additional Govt Depts and Others.

• IT capabilities are required, to include use of company and Microsoft software
• Implement the marketing process by taking digital images, creating lot descriptions,
maintaining the online auction system
• Assist auction viewing by helping customers with enquiries
• Make sure all properties of Health, Safety and Environment polices are heeded
• Take on other duties appointed by the Supervisor or Department Manager

Qualifications: No specific qualifications are required, however excellent customer care and a ‘can-do’ attitude are essential, as are good communications. Attention to detail and complete confidentiality are also required. Forklift and manual handling/lifting training will be given, as required.

Working conditions: The role is warehouse and vehicle compound based, requiring the wearing of personal protective equipment.

Salary: Competitive and discretionary company bonus.

Accountant / Accounts Assistant

We are currently recruiting for the roles of Accountant / Accounts Assistant based at our Herefordshire Offices.  The focus of the role will be accounting for vendor goods for public sector contracts, updating inventory records, monitoring payments received and payments to vendors and reporting internally and externally on performance of the contract. 

The relevant person will have previous accounts / accounting experience and experience of public sector contracts.
