Saturday 11th May 2019 Sale Report
The 1st Elite Sale of 2019, achieves the highest average price for Brightwells dressage sales to date…
The Elite Dressage Collection held at Addington Equestrian on Saturday 11th May, saw a catalogue of 19 horses aged 3-10 years old presented for sale.
All the auction horses arrived safely on Wednesday prior to the sale, ready for their clinical examination which took place on Thursday. It’s safe to say, the audience on Thursday evening’s presentation & during the sale on Saturday, was the largest ever seen at this sale.
The variety the catalogue had to offer, attracted a lot of interest and it was evident that there was something for everyone; young rider, amateur & the professional rider.
It was Lot 1 Jackson van de Lettencouter who stole the show on Saturday evening. The expressive 10 year old gelding by Lord Leatherdale, gave a beautiful presentation to attract the top price of £52,000. There was quite the bidding war for Jackson, who is proven at PSG level in Holland already.
Lot 4A Leroy, the super cute stallion by High Five U.S., was the next horse to secure a new home, for a price of £22,000. Leroy, who is only a 3 year old, behaved impeccably, and looked to be a real contender for the age classes next year.
The second highest price of the evening was achieved by Lot 14 Furst. The stunning 6 year old gelding by Furstenball, caught many eyes, and proved popular with trial rides on the days leading up to the sale. He was secured by a purchaser in the auction room, who later found out that she had been bidding against a phone bidder, who happened to be a friend!
Brightwells were delighted to see faces from old, who continue to support these sales, but also many new faces, who were not familiar with buying at auction. Brightwells pride themselves on offering a professional service and a platform where clients can view a number of carefully selected horses that have passed stringent examination for acceptance into the sale, all under one roof. Clients can truly bid with confidence!
Of course, Brightwells could not hold these sales without the support of their agents and vendors, who spend hours and travel miles to find a suitable and quality collection of horses to offer.
