Brightwells report a tremendous trade for the High Flyers 21st Anniversary Female Production Sale at Hereford Market on Saturday 20th October 2018.
Buyers came from as far as Devon to Kelso, with a strong west contingent, Northern Ireland and Holland also in attendance. The trade was the best witnessed for the sale to date, with nearly a 100% clearance, which given the difficult commercial breeding trade through the Autumn was extremely positive.
Trade for the best was very good, with several yearlings and older ewes passing the 1000gns mark. However, there was also a lot of business at 500 to 700 gns, which is very important for these sales.
All vendors must be credited for producing an exceptional show of females, with many comments from purchasers regarding the quality of sheep on offer.
Older Ewes sold to 1350gns to ave £523.83
Shearling Ewes sold to 2100 gns to ave £637.42
Ewe Lambs sold to 800 gns to ave £654.50
