The smallest of Piaggio’s small frame range, this is the Vespa 50R. We’d like to believe the ‘R’ signifies the racing model (it doesn’t) although, strangely enough, the 50R is popular within the micro-world of scooter tuning and racing.
The Italian racing red paintwork is faded and the period stickers add to its charm. The scooter is complete and the engine turns over, so perhaps this is one to make mechanically sound and leave alone cosmetically. You pays your money…….
This 1977 Vespa was imported in 2013; it has a NOVA document and a dating certificate from the Vespa Club of Great Britain which should make registration a formality.
