One of two Benelli Leoncini offered in this sale, this is the bike to buy for those of you who cannot handle the raw power of the Sport model elsewhere in the catalogue.
This Leoncino was first registered in January 1960 and motivated, if not powered, by a two-stroke 125cc three-speed motor producing a heady 5.5bhp at 5,600rpm. It’s in a delightfully original state, complete with the cast aluminium lion it was named after standing proudly on the front mudguard. The engine turns over but it will need some recommissioning and new tyres before you can ride it, although you won’t need to tax or MOT it.
This is a lovely example of an interesting and popular 1950s model which you could keep and use as is or turn it into a real show queen. Your choice.
A NOVA document and photocopy of the original Italian registration papers are on file.
