Here we have an archetypal Italian 125 sports bike just aching to be rebuilt – the only question is: do you paint it red?
This 1959 Parilla 125 Sport is a typical product of the hyper-active Milanese fabbrica: a four-speed 125cc ohv model producing 12bhp at 8,800rpm (yes!), good for 75mph and full of lovely detail touches (just look at the quality alloy castings).
Parilla produced their first 125 four-stroke road bike in 1952 and it was a best-seller – not surprisingly. This 1959 model is complete (OK, so no points cover), if a little scruffy and is in good shape for a 58-year-old.
This Parilla is such an attractive proposition and represents a relatively easy restoration project. The new owner will have a hard decision to make: rebuild come nuove or come competizione?
A NOVA document and photocopy of the Italian registration document are supplied.
