Motobi was established shortly after the Second World War by Giuseppe Benelli, who left the family firm to make utility motorcycles and mopeds to his own design.
In 1962, following the death of Giuseppe Benelli, Motobi was taken into the bosom of his family and Motobi became part of Benelli SPA.
This 49cc Motorella is from Motobi’s late period, having been first registered in 1971 and coming from a time when mopeds didn’t need pedals (in Italy at least) – just kick’n’go. A right little cutie, this is a rare machine on these shores and would make an ideal paddock bike for those in the classic car racing fraternity. Next stop Goodwood?
A NOVA document and dating certificate from the Benelli Motobi Club GB are on file.
