The Mercedes roadster enthusiast is spoilt for choice in this auction: three SLs - and two of them the top of the range 500. If it comes down to colour this lot will win, with its if-you’ve-got-it-flaunt-it bright red paintwork.
On offer here from a deceased estate, this 1983 example comes with both hard and soft tops and has had just one keeper since 2003. The paintwork is the result of work done on the car some time ago and there are photographs of this on file. It is also believed that the car had a substantial amount of work done in the past, however there is no documentation to confirm this, as is often the case with estate sales.
We can confirm that the car was driven from Cardiff to Leominster and has been started and driven on the premises with no obvious issues. An online MOT history check shows that it has covered some 6,500 miles since 2006 with only minor advisories throughout, the odometer currently showing 98,100 miles.
Apart from the photographs, a current V5C and an MOT valid until August this year, there are no other documents with this lot.
