One of four Shadows in our sale today, this smart Garnet Red example may undercut the others on price if our estimates are anything to go by, but it is still a mighty impressive-looking car by any standards.
First registered in February 1975, it was acquired by the vendor in March 2015 from the estate of a friend who had owned it for the previous 12 years. A meticulous fellow, the previous owner had kept a log of every mile covered and every penny spent on the car during his long ownership but sadly this went missing, along with the handbooks, while his affairs were being settled.
However, the car does have a good history file covering its early years with many invoices charting regular upkeep from new until 1992 at which point it had covered some 49,000 miles, the clock currently showing 67,700 miles which is said to be correct. The file includes bills for a reconditioned gearbox in 1987 at 36,154 miles. Recently fitted with four new tyres, it has also been fitted with an LPG tank in the boot at some time although this does not have a current certificate.
Said to drive as well as it looks with an MOT until April 2018 with no advisories recorded, this is a very sound and straight Rolls with glossy paintwork,a nicely mellowed grey leather interior and green Sundym glass. It looks stonking value at the modest guide price suggested.
