One of four MGB Roadsters in our sale today, this sparkling example dates from March 1970 and has been in the current ownership for 18 years with just four previous keepers.
It comes with a vast history file showing that it was treated to a total nut-and-bolt restoration in the early 1990s with virtually every single part renewed or refurbished including all new body panels and a rebuilt engine with new pistons, polished crank etc.
A run of 25 old MOTs show that the car has only covered some 24,500 miles since the restoration was completed, while dozens of other invoices show meticulous upkeep over the last 20+ years. You really will need to set aside quite some time if you want to explore the history file in full, but the easier course is probably just to look at the car and judge it on its merits!
As you can see it looks extremely attractive all round, the only blemish of any note being the bottom half of the driver’s door which has clearly had a rather indifferent blow-over at some point. Get that sorted and you will have a very sharp-looking car indeed. Starting promptly and running nicely as we moved it around for these photos, it has an MOT until August 2018.
