Built like a gun and made in Redditch by men with hammers named Reg and Ted (the men, that is) who swore, smoked and sweated, this Royal Enfield Clipper is not the most beautiful of motorcycles but it is a monument to times gone by. It is solidly constructed, soundly engineered and would still take you round the world – if only the world would let you.
Offered at an amazingly low reserve, this 1953 Clipper has all the attributes of the bigger Enfields but with quarter litre capacity. The bike is all there and should only require minor attention before making appearances at this year’s classic bike shows. Or perhaps further afield?
