Offering greater usability, improved road manners and better performance than its earlier brethren, the SIII has always had a devoted fan base. Now that SI and SII values have climbed so steeply, that fan base has only got larger.
This smart old 88” dates from April 1975 and features the venerable 2.25 petrol four-pot. It comes with locking hubs and a classic colour scheme with colour-coded wheels and three seats with retro-fitted safety belts. The Landy has been loved by a younger driver as his first entry to the world of Land Rovers and he’s got the bug – after owning and improving this nice SIII its been replaced by the next step up the rung to a Defender.
During his ownership, a new starter and solenoid have just been fitted along with other mechanical remedial works last year totalling £900. The truck is reported to run and drive as it should.
The history file includes the V5 registration document, two old MOTs, a VOSA MOT history print-out and a couple of invoices. The Landy is due a fresh MOT for the sale as the current ticket expires in June.
The successful purchaser of this Land Rover will receive a pair of complimentary weekend tickets to the exciting new Land Rover Legends event, taking place at Bicester Heritage on 26th and 27th May.
