Supplied new in August 1986, this Series 3 Spider is one of the Bell and Colville right hand drive conversions that they introduced in the mid ‘80s when they realised that LHD-only was a limitation to sales and not everyone’s cup of latte.
Finished in silver with contrasting black leather interior with red stitching, the car still retains its flair, sitting on its period-correct multi-hole alloy wheels. Our vendor has been custodian of this 2.0-litre rag top since August 2012, the odometer still only reading 113,225km.
The history file reveals that the car was repainted in 1993 and retrimmed in 2002 at a cost of £442. More recently, a clutch master cylinder was fitted in 2019 and new front callipers in 2017. The car retains its original Bell & Colville stickers and has some 26 plus MOTs dating back to 1990 at which time it had covered just 40,000km.
The handbooks are present along with service booklet showing five stamps plus a further two hand-written entries from the early ‘90s. The car has a recent MOT running until January 2021 with no advisories recorded and will be driven from Cardiff for the sale. The private plate 322 FPX is also included with this lot.
As if the car itself isn’t temptation enough, it is offered at No Reserve so will be sold to the highest bidder on the day.
Estimate; £4,500 - £5,000, but offered at No Reserve
