You could spend all day debating what makes a car a classic, but if age, rarity and lineage are anything to go by, you would have to admit this 1986 Austin Maestro City Van has as much right to the term as many more illustrious/expensive classics. And it’s a lot more practical than most.
There are, apparently, only 43 Maestro 500 vans still in circulation but, sadly, that has little effect on their market value. D74 PMJ is in fine trim and has had considerable work carried out including new inner and outer sills and a complete repaint. The vendor tells us that the van is in sound mechanical condition and has had a recent brake system overhaul. It comes with 24 old MOTs and a current ticket to June 2020 with no advisories.
We should point out that it does have an ABI record of accident damage in 1994 which may have made it uneconomic to repair, but 1994 was a long time ago and the van appears to be in fine fettle currently.
This could be an ideal vehicle for the business looking for an economically priced – and practical - promotional tool.
