In 1850 Thomas Shotter  Boys exhibited  as no. 22 at the NWCS a watercolour titled 'The Chapel of Edward the Confessor...and the Tomb of Henry 111'. The example at Brightwells may also have been painted at around that time for a related project at Westminster Abbey.

The Brightwells example may very possibly be the same watercolour, formerly in the collection of Walter Turner, Esq. that was sold at Sotheby's, London June 1-2 1948 (£32 to Mrs S. Thomson)
