Full Description
1997 Audi Cabriolet (B4)
Showing just 85,457 miles, from 12 year ownership; brand new burgundy hood with glass rear screen; manual 'box
Dating from August 1998 this later model B4 series Cabriolet is finished in silver with a new burgundy hood and looks rather nice in this colour combination, sitting on its period correct multi-spoke alloy wheels.
Coming to us as a result of the deceased estate the car has been in the current ownership since November 2008 with 5 previous keepers shown on the V5C. Powered here by the 5valve 1.8-litre engine driving the front wheels through 5-speed manual transmission. The car was driven up to us from Port Talbot by those acting on behalf of the deceased estate and we are told it ran well although we did notice when moving it around for these images the car seemed to have a misfire and not be running on all cylinders - however there looks to be less than no fuel in the car following delivery.
The hood is we gather, brand new, with clear plastic rear screen and matches the burgundy carpets inside. We could not get it to release on the passenger side of the header rail - likely because its new and tight but once released by the handle in the centre of the header rail operates electronically. Inside we find half leather seats, traditional Audi quality cockpit with additional gauges in the centre console, after market radio/CD, electric windows, mirrors and walnut trim.
Showing just 85,457 miles, modest for its age and type being very usable Modern Classics, this is largely unsubstantiated by the history file which contains only the V5C and current MOT valid until March 2022 which records just one minor advisory for corrosion to exhaust flange bolts, but a look online at the VOSA MOT history shows the car to have covered only 10,000 miles since MOT in 2006 and off the road through 2020.
A good, and attractive Modern Classic Audi with scope to improve some localised cosmetics, oh, and pop some fuel in too!
