Wine Sale, 2nd December
A fantastic selection of fine Claret, Vintage port, Champagne & Malt Whisky are to be offered at Brightwell’s pre-Christmas Wine Sale.
As the nights get longer and the days colder, some of us may well be thinking of purchasing a few special bottles for the festive season.
An exceptional catalogue assembled from private and trade vendors across the country features fine red Bordeaux and Burgundy, superb dessert wines, classic Port and Champagne and rare Malt Whiskies.
Over 550 lots of fine wines and spirits are to go under the hammer at Brightwells’ Leominster saleroom on December 2nd at 12 noon. The auction will be on view on Monday 30th November, Tuesday 1st December and on the morning of the Sale.
Highlights from the French selection include a 12 bottle case of Chateau Lafite 2000 (£7000-9000, in bond) and 2 cases of Chateau Pavie 2005 (£1800-2200 each, also in bond).
Over 70 lots of Vintage Port will be offered including 2 cases of Warre 1977 (£380-500 each) and 1 bottle of Graham’s 1948 (£300-500).
Spirt drinkers will be well served with a fabulous range of whisky including an ultra-rare Brora 21 year old (£420-480) and a Fettercairn 24 year old (£80-120).
The Cognac section includes 2 bottles of the iconic Louis XIII in Baccarat Crystal Decanters (£600-1000 each).
Brightwells’ Wine Consultant Paddy Shave expects busy trade on the day: ‘We have assembled a super catalogue that I think will be popular with trade buyers, private collectors and all wine enthusiasts. Obviously Christmas is a great time of year for a wine auction and I expect our pre-sale tasting to be very popular!’
