27th Standardbred Sale Report
Quality catalogue produces record sale returns
The sale total of £254,940 was significantly more than the £164,700 it was in 2015, with the top 10 Yearlings averaging £17,900.
Congratulations to the breeder of MATTICULOUS for topping the Sale, selling for £32,000 to Mr Lloyd, from the Rhondda. We look forward to seeing MATTICULOUS follow in his brothers’ footsteps -TITANIUM and MIRACULOUS big winners on the track.
The Sale of the Oakwood Stud Yearlings understandably created a great deal of interest. Taking the 2nd top price of £30,000 for OAKWOOD PLAYBOY. This Yearling was snapped up by the Wye Stud Farm in Herefordshire.
Derek Delaney Oakwood Stud…“I think that the sale was of a very high standard across the board. The quality of yearlings was the best I have seen for sale in the UK, the market for well-bred yearlings is on the up. I will definitely be bringing some fantastic prospects to Brightwells in 2017”.
The Rhyds Yearlings of Mrs Wright, as ever, were very popular and we look forward to hearing about their success on the track in the future, particularly her top lot, RHYDS SHOOFLY who is a half-sister to last year's sale topper RHYDS IDEAL. This well grown filly went for £19,000 to William Flanagan from the Meadowbranch Stud, Ireland.
We wish all our clients the best of luck over the coming year and look forward to seeing the Brightwells runners in our sponsored race at the Breeders Crown.
We can’t wait to see what quality we have on offer at Builth 2017.
