Plant, Machinery & HGVs November Report
This month saw trade fall back ever so slightly. This is not to say that we had a bad sale. There were some great results in the agricultural equipment and construction plant sections. The poor weather meant that we saw fewer buyers on site, however we had a great selection of online buyers. Online bidding has become an essential part of our auction with approximately one pound in every five being spent with us online over the last 6 months. This month there was a slight dip in the export trade but that didn’t appear to affect the total value sold at the end of the day. We had a lot of end users buying machines ready to go straight to work in both the construction industry and the agricultural sector.
Entries were up slightly on the previous sale and we saw a large number of slightly more unusual machines arriving for the auction. Large tarmacking rollers, dozers & access platforms were among some of the strong results. As well as the lots above in the photo we had a CAT D6M LGP which made £17,200, an ’06 Leibherr 900 which was £16,800, a tidy 2012 Takeuchi TB016 with a canopy sold to Slovenia for £8,100 & a tidy 10-year-old Merlo P38.12 sold to a firm in South Wales for £13,800 and will no doubt be going straight to work.
Tidy second-hand tractors are becoming increasingly hard to find at the moment. We struggle every month to find enough to satisfy our buyers. Genuine machines are still making very strong money and we have a large base of customers for anything that has a day’s work left in it! Two Massey Ferguson 5435s made £10,800 & £10,200, these were 12 years old and had both come from a brilliant home, they had each only covered around 1000 hours and were sold without cabs, despite the time of year there was still plenty of demand for them! We also had an old 4wd MF 390 on the M’ reg which sold for £9,400, a Ford 7600 County which needed some restoration made £7,500 and a Same Ruben 135 in need of much TLC was £6,900.
We had a great selection of HGVs and Light Commercials this month, just in time for the depths of winter we had 3 x 7-year-old gritting vehicles. The two listed above and a 4x2 Mercedes Axor 1824 tipper which sold for £9,800. We also had a 4 wheel drive Iveco Trakker 310 E5 flatbed, this was on the ’08 plate and had a Hiab crane mounted behind the cab, it sold away for £23,000 to a waste management company. A 2013 Transit 125T350 panel van made £7,100 and a 2010 Mercedes 511 Minibus made £8,000.
Among some of the other notable results was a 3 year old Stewart 14T tipping trailer on super single wheels which made £10,900, a 7 year old Bailey 16T silage trailer for £9,100, a 2012 John Deere 1445 outfront mower for £7,000, a 2013 John Deere 855D Gator was £6,800 and a Kvernland 5 furrow plough made £3,500.
