Top prices achieved at online wine auction.
A superb selection of Red Bordeaux was sold at Brightwells’ latest internet auction. The wines were auctioned over a five day period and attracted bidders from all over the country as well as Belgium, Hong Kong and Scandinavia.
The best priced lot on the day was a 12 bottle case of Chateau Lynch Bages 1982 which sold for £2350 after an exciting cyber bidding battle. 200 lots were offered at the sale and 189 sold, a clearance rate of over 94%. The catalogue featured investment wines from the great chateaux of Bordeaux as well as over 80 lots of classic Claret for everyday consumption.
The Bordeaux auction is the first in a series of four weekly auctions which will run from Fridays to the Wednesday of the week following.
The next auction will run from Friday 24th April to Wednesday 29th April and features wines from Spain, Italy and the New World and also 3 exceptional private collections of Vintage Port.
