Plant, Machinery & HGVs June Online Report
We are pleased to announce an extremely good trade at our most recent online only plant, machinery & HGV auction. After a slightly bumpy start with some service provider issues, we were up and running a couple of days after the planned finish date. This didn’t seem to deter the buyers though and we had strong bids on all lots being offered. We were really encouraged to see some brand-new customers to us, our online presence is reaching ever further.
A quick mention must also go to our timed online sundry auction which was held 2 weeks ago, this also saw a tremendous trade and we got a huge number of buckets, mowers, attachments, golf buggies & other assorted sundry items sold.
The clearance rate was higher this month than ever before. Well over 80% of lots offered were sold and done! Plant in particular, was incredible, excavator prices romped away and at the end of the sale day we only had two machines left to offer. Some of the machines which had been on the yard for some month, failing to sell, have now found new homes, and been sold for over the original reserve prices! There were some great consignments from a few large, genuine hire fleets. These type of entries are always strong sellers. We also find that low reserve items encourage more bids and gain strong committed interest.
The HGV row was fuller than ever, we had barely any space left by sale day (not that space is much of an issue when running an online only sale!) A few massive direct consignments of vehicles meant plenty of buyers. Already we have over 50 fresh vehicles in for our next auction on the 10th July. Entries are flooding in from all directions, to get your end of use assets consigned then please get in touch early to help us get the best value for your lots.
We had precious few tractors entered for this sale again. But the same high level of demand which we enjoyed last month was still felt this time around. A nice selection of Valtras, direct from council sold very well, as did a Massey & Case which was missing a front wheel! There were a handful of other good results, but the buyer’s were certainly left wanting more. We have already got a good consignment of 8 John Deeres, on their way to us, direct from a council. The bids we had in this section were higher than we have seen in some time and the market certainly appears to be extremely strong currently.
Grounds maintenance machines saw a near 100% clearance rate. But for a few old relics which perhaps have seen better days, all the mowers we offered were snapped up by a huge variety of buyers. There was a fantastic line up of 2014 Ransomes outfront flail mowers and we saw some strong bidding battles over these. This strong trade should continue well into the next few months and we are anticipating more strong collections of mowers & grounds care equipment in the next few auctions.
We also offered a strong selection of agricultural & plant trailers as well as attachments & implements. These are very well suited to selling online and we have had some great results & pleasantly surprised vendors.
Entries are now open and coming in thick and fast for our next machinery auction. We are anticipating being able to offer purchaser viewing slots in the near future and expect that this will only boost trade even further. Recently we have been carrying out a large number of valuations & collection services on behalf of finance companies & other receivers. To find out more about these services, give us a call in the office on 01981 250642.
