Three major private wine collections contributed over 1000 lots to Brightwells latest wine sale which took place on Wednesday 14th and Thursday 15th August. Prices achieved exceeded vendor’s expectations with many lots achieving values well above the estimate.
By the close of the second day approx. 75% of the lots had found new homes, with many excellent prices achieved.
The auction took place on 12th June at the Leominster Saleroom and featured over 1000 lots. The sale totalled in excess of £200,000.
A significant private collection of Wine, Port and Madeira came under the hammer at Brightwells’ recent wine sale which took place on Wednesday 17th April.
Jiminy Cricket! Buyers flock to bid on a magnificent collection of Chinese cricket cages… All 12 found buyers for hammer prices well in excess of their presale values.
An interesting catalogue of over 1000 lots, attracted a large crowd of enthusiastic purchasers, with trade in many areas, but particularly furniture, being stronger than seen for some time.
A pre-Second World War bottle of Macallan Whisky sold for £10,500 at Brightwells’ recent auction of Rare Malt Whisky and Fine Cognac. The sale attracted worldwide interest, particularly from the Far-East; UK bidders from around the country were joined by online bidders from the US, Hong Kong, Japan and Scandinavia.
Despite temperatures reaching close to 30 degrees on viewing and sale days, hundreds of clients entered the air-conditioned purpose-built sale room at Easters Court to inspect close on 1000 lots and watch them come under the auctioneer’s hammer.
Over 800 lots of Fine Wine, Vintage Port and Champagne were offered at Brightwell’s Wine Sale on Wednesday 18th July. UK bidders from around the country were joined by online bidders from the US, Hong Kong, Japan and Scandinavia.
Four major private wine and spirit collections from Shropshire, London, Staffordshire and Edinburgh will form the centrepiece of Brightwells’ forthcoming sale of Wine, Port, Champagne and Whisky.
