Yew Tree Cottage is situated in the heart of the south west Herefordshire village of Rowlestone and is within easy reach of the popular and well-serviced village of Ewyas Harold. It is approached off a small country lane and its elevated position gives it far reaching views over the neighbouring landscape. Its location offers tranquillity, making it ideal for someone seeking seclusion with the added benefit of excellent village facilities within reach.
The cottage itself has been improved and maintained to a good standard throughout. It is well proportioned and offers comfortable accommodation, making it perfect for a young family or for those looking to downsize and get ‘far from the madding crowd’.
The front door leads into a hallway, with a recently improved and refurbished shower room to one side and a door to a warm and comfortable sitting room with wood burning stove and views across the rear garden. The tumbled lime-stone flooring continues throughout the hall, shower room and into the sizeable dining room (again with wood burning stove) and through to the sun room at the front which soaks up the excellent views. Also, off the dining room there is access to a compact but well fitted kitchen with one of the best views from the kitchen sink that money can buy!
On the first floor there are three comfortable bedrooms which are complemented by a family bathroom. Two of the bedrooms benefit from built in wardrobes.
Outside, the property is approached off a country lane and this in turn gives access to a large parking area for a number of vehicles. The gardens is predominately laid to lawn for ease of maintenance and surrounded by mature hedging. There is a good-sized paved seating area to the rear, that also leads off the sitting room.
From Hereford, proceed south west on the A465 towards Abergavenny. Continue on this road, passing through the villages of Allensmore, Didley and Wormbridge. Upon arriving in Pontrilas, ignore the first turning right to Ewyas Harold but take the second right to Rowlestone. Continue on this country lane and proceed into the village, passing the village Church on the right-hand side. Here the road will bear round to the right and after a short distance, take the first right hand turning to Longtown. Continue on this smaller country lane for a short distance and Yew Tree Cottage is the first property on the right-hand side.
