Description
1969 MG Midget Mark III
Coming from long term storage and now in good running
order
First registered in May 1969 this MG Midget
Mark III has the 1,275cc engine ...the version of the A-series
engine which was developed from that used in the Mini Cooper S
- producing some 65bhp which was sufficient to propel the car
into the mid 90’s mph.
Sitting on wire wheels, it has recently come
out of long-term storage (hence its inclusion in the sale) and has been given a
thorough going over to get to back to good shape. This has included new
front discs, pads and brake hoses, new clutch and master cylinder and a new
petrol tank.
The car was waxoyled from new and was originally green,
with a colour change to the current red in 1998. There is the original handbook
and green registration book showing the car's first home was in North Aston,
Oxfordshire.
Interest in Midgets has rocketed of late, this 1969 example
sitting in the sweet-spot of the model's developement with its peppy engine and
cute looks.
