1977 Rolls-Royce Shadow II
Project Shadow;
recent service work; nice number included
The Shadow II arrived in
1977 and offered a much more precise driving experience in comparison to the
outgoing model, thanks to various suspension mods and rack and pinion
steering.
The dash was revised along with external styling, with updated
bumpers and front spoiler which gave it a much more 'bluff-fronted'
and contemporary appearance.
We know very little of this old girl,
but she has clearly led a life and the bodywork is showing signs of age in
numerous places as photographed. We don't know if the indicated 48,000 miles are
correct although there is a letter on file from a previous owner who thought
they were.
It was originally gold, changing to white in 1998 and looks to
have had some service work in the recent past - plugs, coil and two new fuel
pumps costing £1,086 in April 2022 which also included fitting electronic
ignition supplied by the owner.
The car doesn't appear on the MOT
history and we are not sure what it has been up to in the interim, although
an undated letter states it was off the road for 20 years or so and this
would accord with the time the DVLA computerised the MOT system.
The
good news is the nice three letter, three number registration UHH 232 is
include in the sale which will no doubt have a value of its own.
