1987 Mercedes-Benz 230E (W124)

Appealing one-owner from new until March this year (deceased estate) with automatic 'box in startlingly unmolested order; very presentable order

Dating from March 1987 this earlier W124 series Mercedes comes to us in 230E form and is finished in desirable BlueBlack with grey bumpers and sits upon its original 15” steel wheels with plastic MB hub caps.

Under the bonnet, we find the fuel injected 2.3 litre M102.982 four cylinder petrol engine which develops 130bhp and drives the rear wheels here, via four-speed automatic transmission with Sports and Economy modes.

Inside the cabin, we find light grey cloth seats with manual adjustment, Zebrano wood trim, original Blaupunkt radio/cassette player, electric sunroof and heated rear screen along with electric windows (x4) and electric passenger mirror.

The car shows 103,287 miles which have been covered by its sole owner until their death earlier this year when the car passed to their daughter.  The car presents beautifully, inside and out and even in the boot with the tool kit and spare looking unused.

The history file includes the V5C confirming just one former keeper, the owner’s manual and service book revealing an impressive 20 stamps, with many by the same two MB main dealers and the last by Kingsbury Autocare of London in November 2017 at 102,756 miles.

The last MOT expired earlier this year, in February and recorded just one minor advisory for an oil leak (not excessive).  To find two unmolested W124 series 230E’s in the same sale with a similar story is most uncommon, and we think a real treat!
