2003 Maserati Spyder Cambiocorsa
Pre-face-lift
Cambiocorsa variant with F1 paddles and just 50,000 miles in a lovely colour
combination with glass rear screen
Dating from
September 2003 this pretty Maserati Spyder (Tipo M138) is finished in a charming hue of Blue
with matching dark blue hood and sits upon its original 18” seven-spoke alloy
wheels.
Under that lovely sculpted bonnet, we
find the Ferrari/Maserati group F136R 4.2-litre V8 engine which develops here,
385bhp and 491NM of torque driving the rear wheels via the CambioCorsa six speed
sequential gearbox with F1 paddles, Sport and automatic
modes.
Inside the plush cabin, we find cream
leather seats which are electrically adjustable with driver memory, heated
seats, electric windows, electric mirrors, ASR, climate control with AC and
Maserati’s in-car entertainment centre with sat-nav and CD
changer.
The roof operation is electric, and as
an MY03 example, features a heated glass rear screen which replaced the earlier
plastic item.
The car shows just 50,172 miles
and largely presents well, although there are the typical wear points for the
Spyder on the roof (pictured) and some wear to the interior and signs of
re-connolising to the leather as pictured and usual wear to the plastic coated
buttons on the centre console.
The history file
includes the V5C recording six former keepers to our vendor, a re-print owner’s
manual on A4, original in-car entertainment user manual and selection of bills
for works undertaken including a £2,436 spend in December 2018 on a replacement
catalyst, EGR valve, radiator hose, lambda sensor and exhaust temp probe at
49,540 miles.
In addition, we also find a
service invoice dated May 2017 at 47,180 miles, another in May 2016 for a
service and fitment of a replacement front shocker, bill for a fitment of a
replacement clutch actuator and solenoid valve in 2016 costing £1,592, bill for
an oil filter in November 2022, new discs, pads and brake pipe in June 2019
costing £1,999, repair to roof linkage in July 2019 costing
£1,068.
A data report is also in file dated
November 2018 which recorded the clutch wear at that time to be 69%. The current MOT is not on file, but is
valid until November 2023 and recorded three advisories for cuts to the tyres
and a corroded brake pipe.
Ready to be enjoyed,
these Spyders offer much performance and style for a modest outlay and with the
private plate shown included, no-one will be any the wiser to its
age.
