Description
Late model 90 2with 200tdi engine; scope for cosmetic
improvement; spare passenger footwell steel sections included; honest old
truck
Dating from June 1990 this late model Land
Rover 90 is finished in Green and has led a life over its 33 years and shows
147,693.
Under the bonnet, we find a 200TDi
lump, the vendor believing this engine to have been in it from
new.
Drive goes to all four wheels in the
traditional manner via five speed manual R380 transmission. The truck starts, stops and runs well
enough, although you may have noted the hole in the passenger footwell – the
vendor found some rot, cut it out and has supplied the truck with the brand new
repair panel in the back.
The chassis is heavily coated in
underseal (probably a good thing) and looks generally sound with some recently
replaced spring hangers, but we did spot a hole in the passenger out-rigger as
pictured and the rear cross member looks sound enough (see
images).
The history file includes the V5C
recording 11 former keepers to the vendor’s wife, its been with them since 2011
and eight old MOTs along with the current, valid until January 2024 which
recorded six advisories (enter the reg at
check-mot.service.gov.uk).
A good project which
runs and drives with a current MOT that can be used and improved or completely
restored into something marvellous as so many have been - as well as potentially
eligible for export to the States or elsewhere – the choice is
yours.
