refurbished 4WD workhorse with legendary reliability

Originally
supplied new by RRG Altrincham, Cheshire, in March 2000, this Hilux GX 4WD comes
with its original invoice and a comprehensive history file.
Purchased by
the current owner in March 2021, it was restored with the intention of long-term
enjoyment, sparingly used since, and now reluctantly offered for sale due to
loss of indoor storage.
In 2021 the truck underwent extensive
refurbishment: the rear tub was removed, the chassis shot-blasted,
painted and wax-oiled,
with a new genuine Toyota rear crossmember fitted. The tub was treated with
Raptor coating before being top-coated
in body colour, while the vehicle was professionally repainted with all trims,
badges, lights and glass removed.
Mechanical work included a new clutch
kit, slave cylinder, release fork, rear shocks, fuel sender, timing belt, water
pump and full service at 119,444 miles. More recent work includes new front
shocks and rear spring bushes in 2023.
Fitted with a reversing camera and
genuine Ifor Williams canopy, it comes with two keys, handbook wallet, stamped
service book, invoices and old MOTs. The service record is impressively
detailed, with regular entries from new through to November 2025 at 123,434
miles.
On correct Cooper Discoverer AT3 tyres, plus a set of unused
Bridgestone Dueler H/Ts still showing their red chalk marks, this Hilux presents
as a carefully restored, well-maintained
and highly usable example of Toyota’s
legendary 4WD workhorse.
Driven 80 miles to the sale, it is ready to
serve its next custodian with reliability, practicality and enduring
charm.
