First
generation; completely original 1895cc Z3; five-speed manual; only 34,290 miles
from new; 4 owners; MOTd until February 2026 with no
advisories
Based on the E36 saloon platform,
the BMW Z3 was produced from 1995 to 2002 and offered a choice of four and
six-cylinder engines ranging from 1.8 to 3.0 litres. Styled by Joji Nagashima,
it combined retro looks with proven engineering, using the semi-trailing arm
rear suspension from the earlier E30 3 Series. It also marked a significant
milestone as the first BMW to be manufactured exclusively outside Germany, at
the company’s plant in Greer, South Carolina.
This example is the 1.9-litre model, powered by a 138bhp
straight-four that was capable of propelling the Z3 to 62mph in around 9.5
seconds and on to a top speed just shy of 130mph. It has had four owners from
new and shows 34,290 miles, supported by the DVLA MOT history. The service book
contains thirteen stamps, the most recent completed at 33,390 miles in January
2025. The car is MOTd until February 2026 with no advisories and is supplied
with its original handbooks and keys.
It is
almost certainly one of the most original, low-mileage first-generation 1.9 Z3s
currently on the market. It was driven over 30 miles to the sale and started,
ran and drove as seen in the accompanying video and
photographs.
