Montesa Cota 49 trials
bike; being sold as a restoration project; The vendor informs us that the bike
was running a few months ago; bike comes with out
paperwork
An appealing lightweight
trials bike offered as a project. The Montesa Cota 49 was designed primarily for
younger riders and beginners, combining a lightweight chassis, low seat height
and small-capacity engine to provide an easily manageable introduction to trials
riding.
This example is powered by a
49cc two-stroke single-cylinder engine with Dell'Orto carburettor, three-speed
manual transmission and clutch.
The vendor informs us that the
bike was running a few months ago, although we have not attempted to start it
since it arrived on site. It is therefore offered as a project and will require
recommissioning before use.
Produced from the early 1970s
through to the late 1980s, the Cota 49 has become an appealing and increasingly
collectible machine among enthusiasts of vintage trials
motorcycles.
