  • Plant & Machinery General Yard Operative (telehandler driver)

    Madley (HR2), HR2 9NH

    Duties include:
    • The Job

      • Loading and unloading machinery on and off lorries
      • Operating a telehandler to load and move implements and machinery (training will be given)
      • Light mechanical work, jump starting equipment
      • Assisting customers and others around the yard with moving, loading & unloading
      • Monitor, report and uphold all Health & Safety legislation and processes on site
      • Light yard maintenance duties including strimming & litter picking

      The Person

      This role is an active, outdoor job and requires someone with the ability to operate all types of heavy equipment and trucks (training will be given). You will be required to work outdoors in all weathers as well as being physically fit to climb on and off machinery. If you have a knowledge of heavy plant/mining/quarry equipment, then we especially want to hear from you.

      The Requirements

      • We are looking for motivated, organised people who love a challenge
      • Ideally you should be an experienced Yard Worker with a 'can do' attitude
      • Ability to take instruction as well as work on own initiative and follow Health & Safety legislation
      • Willingness to work regular overtime during busy periods

  • Plant & Machinery: Auction Assistant

    Madley (HR2), HR2 9NH

    Duties include:

    The Job

    • Moving trucks & machinery around our auction site
    • Marking out rows and ensuring all machines are parked correctly
    • Sticking lot numbers and ensuring each lot is well presented for sale
    • Washing and preparing machines & vehicles for auction
    • Moving hand tools and helping load customer’s vehicles with purchased lots
    • Assisting the office admin staff where necessary
    • Assisting the loader drivers and customers where necessary

    The Person

    This role is predominantly an active, outdoor job with some requirements for indoor customer facing admin. The role requires someone with a positive “can-do” attitude who is happy to help anyone and everyone on site to get the job done. You will be required to work outdoors in all weathers as well as being physically fit to climb on and off machinery.

    Knowledge & a keen interest in heavy plant/mining/quarry/farming/trucking equipment is a huge positive as you will be seeing a lot of it!

    Interest in professional auction services is desirable.

    This role is a varied position with an existing team. Work required may be indoors or outdoors. Operation of small tools and a pressure washer will be required.

    The Role:

    A vacancy has arisen at our Madley site for a highly-experienced and professional Customer Service Manager (CSM). The CSM will mainly be responsible for dealing with national accounts including Government bodies and financial institutions, providing a high level of service and communication.

    Main responsibilities include:

    • Providing a high level of service and communication between Brightwells and national contract customers.
    • Liaising with contacts at Government bodies and Financial institutions
    • Ensuring accurate and complete information is passed between Brightwells and national contract customers.

    This is an exciting role available for a Trainee Management Accountant, an opportunity for growth to become the future Management Accountant at Brightwells. We are looking for an experienced ledger clerk who is looking to make the next step in their accounting career. We will provide on the job training and support to enable you to grow into the role of Management Accountant at Brightwells.
    Location: Madley, Herefordshire

    Main responsibilities include:

    • Ensuring ledger entries have been correctly processed by the clerks.
    • Ensuring system integrity
    • Liaison with foreign clients on goods exports.
    • Monitoring information systems and financial performance and identifying issues and propose solutions to local managers.
    • Creation and posting of accrual, prepayment and other relevant journals.
    • Ensuring accurate and timely processing of accounting entries.
    • Preparing analysis of performance, analysing large amounts of data and condensing data into actionable information by management
    • Continuous improvement project work to identify potential improvements.

    Required Skills:

    • A ‘can-do’ attitude and desire to learn more about auctioneering
