manual gearbox; Quaife limited-slip differential; Left Hand Drive; supplied new
in Switzerland in November 2005
Here we have a highly desirable Ford Focus RS
Mk1, this time a left-hand-drive example numbered 0203, finished in the model's
signature Imperial Blue. Built as one of just 4,501 examples produced, the Mk1
Focus RS has become one of Ford's most celebrated modern performance cars,
combining rally-bred looks with thrilling front-wheel-drive handling and
turbocharged performance.
Powered by the 1,988cc turbocharged
four-cylinder engine and coupled to a five-speed manual gearbox, the Focus RS
was equipped from the factory with a Quaife limited-slip differential, uprated
suspension and distinctive wide-arch bodywork. Today it is widely regarded as
one of the defining hot hatches of the early 2000s and enjoys a strong following
amongst enthusiasts and collectors alike.
Supplied new in Switzerland in November 2005,
this RS is believed to be one of the very last Mk1 Focus RS models registered
and has evidently led a pampered life. Imported into the UK and first registered
here on 1st December 2016, it offers collectors the opportunity to acquire a
rare left-hand-drive example that remains true to its original
specification.
Bearing production number 0203, the car remains
a genuine, unmolested and unmodified example, something that is becoming
increasingly difficult to find among Mk1 RS models. Finished in Imperial Blue,
the colour synonymous with the model, it retains all the characteristics that
have made these cars so sought-after by enthusiasts and investors
alike.
Showing
117,641 kilometres (approximately 73,103 miles), the car is accompanied by an
impressive maintenance record. The service book contains 11 main dealer service
stamps, supported by a collection of invoices documenting work carried out
throughout its life. Particularly noteworthy is a substantial invoice from June
2014 for a full cylinder head rebuild, together with replacement of the cambelt
and water pump, carried out by a Ford main dealer in Switzerland. More recently,
the car has benefited from new rear brake discs, professionally refurbished
wheels, and a fresh oil and filter service using genuine Ford parts, has been in
dry storage since 2017.
The Mk1 Focus RS has firmly established itself
as a modern classic, with originality becoming ever more important as surviving
examples age. The combination of limited production, motorsport pedigree and
engaging driving dynamics has seen values strengthen considerably in recent
years, with well-preserved cars attracting increasing attention from
collectors.
Paperwork includes the current V5C registration
document, one previous MOT certificate, service book containing 11 main dealer
service stamps, original handbook pack and a selection of invoices documenting
maintenance and expenditure throughout the vehicle's life.
As one of just 4,501 Focus RS Mk1s
produced, this left-hand-drive example, number 0203, represents a rare
opportunity to acquire a genuine, unmodified and exceptionally well-maintained
example of one of Ford's most iconic modern performance cars. Showing 117,641
kilometres (approximately 73,103 miles) and benefiting from an extensive service
history including a documented cylinder head rebuild, cambelt and water pump
replacement, it offers both enthusiast enjoyment and strong collector
appeal.
