New bodyshell 10 years
ago; two owners from new; large amount of mechanic work carried out over the
years; The speedometer currently displays 77,507 miles, although this cannot be
verified
An interesting example of the
ever-popular MGB GT, finished in red with a black leatherette interior and
contrasting blue door panels. Powered by the familiar 1,798cc four-cylinder
engine paired with a four-speed manual gearbox, this classic British sports
coupé offers an appealing restoration and recommissioning
opportunity.
First registered in August
1973, the car has had just two former keepers and has been in the current
ownership since October 2010. The vendor advises that approximately 10 years ago
the bodyshell was replaced with a brand-new shell, alongside a substantial
amount of mechanical work. Unfortunately, the history relating to this work has
been lost over the years.
The bonnet, wings and doors
were retained from the original car and have since suffered from corrosion,
which will require attention. Please refer to the photographs for an indication
of their condition.
The speedometer currently
displays 77,507 miles, although this cannot be verified. The car was running and
driving while on site, but both batteries are flat following a prolonged period
in storage and a jump-start will be required.
An interesting MGB
GT with a reported replacement bodyshell and previous mechanical work, now
requiring further attention to the retained body panels and recommissioning
following storage.
