Bentley Continental tops the bill, with over 62% of the 115 Modern Classics entered finding new homes.
We have managed to persuade Hereford Market to reschedule the date, despite their exceedingly busy calendar. They have enabled us to hold the Hay at Hereford Sale on the following weekend and for this we are very appreciative. Therefore, the sale will now be held on Saturday 11th November (subject to numbers)
The last sale of 2016 had some interesting items consigned, particularly in the Tribal Art section. Most notably a pair of Anglo-Indian blackwood demilune Console Tables, sourced by our South Wales area valuer Philip Keith. Highly decorative, the pair were fiercely contested for by a telephone and internet bidder, finally selling for considerably over estimate at £2,000.
A new and improved Autumn Sales calendar will be put in place for 2017. Brightwells have taken this decision in order to better utilise the facilities on offer at The Royal Welsh Showground, for both vendors and purchasers. We also hope that moving the Fayre Oaks Sale back a few weeks, will help foal breeders, as it will give them a little longer to prepare their beautiful fillies and colts.
Strong trade on Bordeaux, Vintage Port and Malt Whisky at Brightwells’ pre-Christmas Wine Sale.
An excellent catalogue including first growth Bordeaux, Vintage Port and rare Malt Whisky was offered at Brightwell’s Wine Sale on 30th November.
57 carefully selected Dressage, Show Jumping and Eventing prospects, combined with a worldwide audience of prospective buyers, were the two ingredients which made the 2016 December Elite Auction another successful event.
A few notable highlights of the Modern Classic Sale on the 8th December include the highly desirable, and last of the air-cooled generation Porsche 993. From long term ownership and in storage for a number of years this spanking example features fourwheel drive and a 6 speed manual gearbox. Arguably the most appealing combination and with only 72,000 miles on the clock this super silver 911 looks and sounds superb.
Ferrari 360 Modena tops the results as Brightwells round off the year in fine style by yet again selling 85% of the entries.
Brightwells rounded off 2016 in fine style on 23rd November as all but 17 of 117 classic vehicles on offer were successfully hammered away for a combined total of just over £1m and an impressive 86% clearance rate.
The historic motoring community is set to benefit from a brand-new partnership between leading auction service provider, Brightwells, and Bicester Heritage – the UK’s first business campus for the restoration, storage and enjoyment of historic vehicles and aircraft.
Brightwells’ pre-Christmas Wine Auction promises to be one of their biggest to date with a large number of private collections of fine wine and port set to come under the hammer.
The auction will take place at 12 noon on Wednesday 30th November at the Easters Court Saleroom in Leominster. It will be on view on Monday 28th from 9am – 5pm and Tuesday 29th from 9am – 7pm.
