1932
AZ8435 MG F-Type Magna four-seater
AMENDMENT (2); Unused for many years;
delightfully original car; ex-Mouldsworth Motor Museum; lots of
potential
This charming six-cylinder 1932 F-Type Magna offers entry
into the ‘Triple MMM’ world on a shoestring budget.
It lived for many
years on display at the Mouldsworth Motor Museum in Cheshire. It went back to
its owner when the museum closed its doors a few years ago and sat in his garage
until he sadly passed away.
It comes to us with much of its history lost,
and the more observant of you will have noticed that there is also no head
fitted. This was taken off for repair many years ago and its whereabouts is not
known, or likely to become known. We are therefore offering this lot without the
head, or prospect of it turning up.
The good news is that it was
carefully dismantled, so other than the head itself which was presumably sent
away for work, the sale does include the rocker cover, camshaft, pedestals and
carburettors and manifold.
The rest of the car is in pretty sound
condition and looks complete as far as we can see - including the
hood.
It is many years since it last ran so it is certainly a project,
but a very straightforward one providing the new owner can locate a spare head –
there must be some out there.
Perhaps they could fit an alterative power
plant while the existing one is being restored? – it would be a relatively
simple exercise and the rest of the car would take little to get back into
roadworthy condition.
The car has been off the road sufficiently long to
have fallen off the DVLA radar so there is currently no V5C. The MMM Register
are used to assisting owners in getting registration numbers repatriated or
age-related numbers issued so it would definitely be worth joining the club –
whose members may well turn up the vital missing bit!
AMENDMENTS;
Bidders are advised that this car is still recognised by the DVLA and so the new
owner can apply for a replacement V5C in the usual way.
Please
also note that there is only one (the front) cam pedestal and not three as
previously catalogued.
