1968 RFD671F FORD CORTINA LOTUS MkII

AMENDMENT; Series I MkII Cortina with big valve head and Burton cams; smart example that's seen limited use over the past 10 years

This series 1 Cortina-Lotus MkII dates from February 1968 and has formed part of a private collection, being in our vendor’s hands since 2010. The car has seen little use during this time.

Its engine features a big valve head with Burton cams and as such, prefers lots of revs and a driving style not suited to our vendor. The car presents well and looks very much the part, the solid and sound period two-door bodyshell being finished in the rarer and arguably more suitable red with gold wheels and stripes.

Since arrival onsite, it has fired up and sounds very fit. We have been unable to drive the car due to a clutch issues which we have not investigated. The gears all select so it is likely to be a simple fix. The only cosmetic attention we could see is that it needs a headlining - all minor stuff and reflected in the estimate.

This MOT exempt Cortina is offered with a V5C registration document only which states the make and model as a Ford Cortina Mk2 Lotus.
