1934 CG9547 AUSTIN SEVEN RUBY
Highly original
and unmolsested example; running and driving; unusual to find in such sound and
original condition
This is a very appealing and very early Ruby
Mk1, first registered on 16th November 1934. We don't have chapter and verse
about its long and eventful life, but it remains extremely original and
unmolested so it must have been loved a lot.
The upholstery is almost
entirely original, and although scruffy, would be a pleasure to restore and
would look amazing. The engine runs and shows good oil pressure - certainly when
cold and sounds healthy enough, although needs full choke to keep going so could
do with a very good service and check over.
We are not sure if the paint
is original - some may well be, but it has been on for many years and has that
lived in look. The running board rubbers are a bit sad but are the originals.
The sun roof even opens.
This is the perfect candite for preservation and
not restoration. I could be out on the open road after a few days care and
attention - and the only urgent job we would consider necessary would be to
remove the bunny-ear indicators from the room - who thought that was a good
idea?
