1991 BMW 850i Automatic (E31)

Eye catching V12 super-coupe featuring CSI style nosecone and rear valence; stainless cat-back exhausts; uber rare MK Motorsport deep dish alloy wheels - very cool indeed

Very much still a head turner, with many still unsure what this sleek beast is, the E31 has a certain something about it. This sleek 850i is an earlier example, dating from February 1992 and features the 5.0 V12 M70B50 engine which put out 300bhp and is driven here through four-speed automatic transmission with Sport, winter and manual modes. Finished in Brilliant Red with contrasting black leather interior the car looks most assertive and aggressive on its Uber rare deep-dish MK Motorsport staggered alloy wheels which were refurbished and powder coated grey in 2019. The rears are shod with massive 285 section tyres. The car sits a little lower than stock courtesy of a set of Direnza lowering springs and also features the addition of the 850 CSI nose cone and rear valance (removed, but included in the boot) which improves the aerodynamics and the overall looks. This example also wears a rear spoiler and M-sport badge and a bespoke stainless-steel rear exhaust section giving it a proper V12 exhaust note. The spec includes pop-up headlights, electric heated leather memory seats, electric sunroof, front fog lights, dual zone automatic control with AC, On-board computer (OBC), CD player, electric mirrors, traction control and stitched leather on many surfaces. This car as an earlier non-air bag E31 features twin glove boxes (including torch!) and attractive 3-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel. Our vendor has lavished considerable funds on the car over the last 20 months. Although not all documented, this includes the refurbished alloy wheels, CSI nose cone and rear valance purchased, painted and fitted; new rear tyres; stainless steel exhaust by 304 Stainless Exhausts of Worcester along with other documented works including a brace of new batteries (the E31 has 2), new brake pads, lube service including SEDC (Specialist Engine Deep Cleaning) costing £395 in May 2019 at 149,272 miles, new shock absorbers in June 2019, new horn, and new washer pump. In addition to the invoices mentioned, we have the V5C, owner’s manual and one old MOT. The car’s current MOT runs until 13^th December 2020 with just one minor advisory for a weaping rear diff. The car undoubtedly looks the business sitting wide and low on its deep dish wheels and produces a super, deep bellow from the quad stainless exhausts. Buyers please note, the engine ticks slightly from the top-end, sounding like the RH bank. The owner suggests its likely to be a blocked oil feed to the cams, not an uncommon issue on the E31 V12 often caused by lack of use which is evidenced by the MOT history which shows  just 6,000 miles covered in the last 5 years.
