1993 Peugeot 205 Junior
Built up from a solid
1.1 shell into a stripped out trackday/fast road/road rally/hill climb car with
1.6 GTi power, roll cage and bucket seats
Dating from January 1993,
this hot little hatch started life as a humble yet no doubt dependable 1.1 litre
Junior spec 205, before being re-built into this lightweight, stripped out
trackday/fast road spec/road rally toy we see here.
Finished in red
the car features perspec side and rear window, a pair of lightweight Cobra
bucket seats, 4-point Sabelt harnesses, integral OMP roll cage, Bilstein
suspension, OMP steering wheel to name but a few of the features.
Under
the bonnet we find the beating heart of a 106 GTi, the TU5J4 1.6 16v engine
which kicks out c. 130bhp enough in this lightweight to give it real urgency
indeed. It sounds good, the exhaust boasting a 4-2-1 custom manifold. At the
back we find a 205 1.9GTi rear beam and disc conversion, and to help kep things
under the bonnet cool a manual fan plus external fuel pump and fire extinguisher
have been fitted.
No doubt a lot of fun, with scope to constantly use and
improve, add or remove, enhance and lighten it offers the next owner a chance to
enjoy it on the track or as a fun, fast road car (within the limits,
obviously!).  Any good 205 is worth good money now, particularly a solid
shell so this is surely worth a look, particularly at the enticing estimate
pitched here!  The car comes with just the V5C and current MOT running
until January 2021 with just one minor advisory recorded for wear to the inner
edges of two tyres.
