1958 Ford Prefect 100E
Former show-winner in
lovely condition throughout; recent engine rebuild; runs
beautifully
First registered in September 1958, this lovely 100E has
clearly been well-restored at some point in the not-too-distant past and still
looks very smart today. Although there are no invoices to say when it was
restored, a trophy in the boot shows that it won ‘Best Standard E’ at the E’s at
the Ace meeting in 2017, and there are a few invoices for recent upkeep
including an engine rebuild in November 2015 with new piston rings, main and big
end bearings etc. It certainly started promptly and ran very sweetly indeed as
we drove it around our yard for these photos on what was a freezing cold January
day.
Four old MOTs show that it covered around 2,500 miles
between 2009 and 2012 and it has done another 5,500 miles since, the odometer
currently showing 78,500 miles. The original VIN plate is still present in the
history file and an Autopress workshop manual is also included.
One of the nicest Ford Prefects we have seen, it looks
good value at the sensible guide price suggested.
